You may be surprised to learn that China's national parks system was officially established quite recently - in 2021! The national parks system was created to improve conservation and consolidate management of protected areas, and also to share China's most beautiful scenery and biodiverse regions with the world.
Who we are
Who we are
We are a diverse group of researchers, outdoors guides, former NGO workers, policy analysts, and photographers. Some of us hail from the Tibetan Plateau, some from from China's large cities, and some from outside the country. We are brought together by a shared mission: to explore and to protect China's wild places. We develop tourism routes in China's national parks that have minimal impact on the environment, primarily benefit local communities, and share some of China's unique scenery and biodiversity with the world.
